Playing with gravity. Choosing your own path. Freedom. Some of the aspects that make skiing and boarding so much fun. Its the reason that we visit Tahoe or have chosen to keep it as home. Skis and boards are the tools of the trade, that open up the winter world to us. There are two ways to wax a ski, treat the surface with a rub on wax/belt wax or to melt a wax into the base. At Ltd. we only do hot waxes, no belt waxing or surface treatment. This ensures the smoothest ride, resistance to friction, and longevity of your wax
So you got a new ski….sweeeeet. Now let’s bolt some bindings on there to put the rubber to road. Mounting bindings on skis takes precision and some skill depending on what you need, let up know where you want them and we’ll get those new sticks ready to roll. Includes a new ski prep.
Sometimes a hot wax isn’t enough. If you want the best penetration into the base, we can hot box your gear. 8 hours at 125 degrees of a base prep followed up by a hot wax is the ultimate way to marinate you skis or board for the best performance.

Most everyone hits rocks. After enough abuse, skis and boards need some love. For an edge and wax, we start by knocking down burrs then polish the edges by belt. We follow this up with a Wintersteiger ceramic disc edger and top it off with a hot wax.
A backcountry setup is the “lift line liberator.” The skins are the ticket. If you dont feel comfortable cutting them yourself, we can do it.

A full tune is your standard issue service to make well-used gear look new. We’ll begin by fixing minor base scratches. After that we’ll base grind your skis or board on a Wintersteiger belt & stone grinder. Next we’ll run them through a ceramic disc edger to make sure they hold a solid edge. Lastly a hot wax.
It’s a mount………for cross country. So it’s cheaper.
The top notch tune. First, we will stone grind your skis with a appropriate structure. Then plane your side walls, followed by a hand pulled file & diamond stone polish. Next they’ll go to the hot box w/ base prep. We’ll top it off with a flourinated wax, perfect for the conditions.
Base repair is step 1 in reviving a hammered ski or board. Simple P-Tex is $5/inch, a Base Weld runs $10/inch, and if it’s a giant spot a base patch price will be decided upon assessment. We definately recommend a full tune w/ any base repair, as the fixed spot will be smooth and won’t hold wax.
